We reveal how our new 5D BIM identifies cost saving prefabrication opportunities at Sydney Build on 15 – 16 March. Manufacturing reinforcing steel elements off-site means less onsite labour is required, safety risks are minimised and delays due to scheduling and inclement weather are eliminated.
A challenge in our industry is identifying ways to reduce material costs and accelerate construction time during the design stage. Because design influences around 75% of the cost and time of a project, designers are looking for fast services that provide cost saving insights.
Our engineers developed ADDA (Advanced Detailing and Design Application) to make it quick and easy for designers to save money. The AutoCAD program generates a detailed 3D reinforcing steel model that identifies prefabrication opportunities and ensures the materials fit together perfectly.
“We’re can’t wait for Sydney Build”, said Paul Barbuto, General Manager – NSW. “It’s an opportunity to show designers and contractors how ADDA can save them time and money by engaging us in the design phase”.
ADDA uses Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DfMA) principles to identify off-site manufacturing opportunities, reduce material waste and accelerate construction time.
